Mission Statement

"We can’t take things for granted...we have to work to make things better....You don’t have to accept the world as it is. You can make it into the world as it should be and could be."

Barack Obama, Commencement speech for the Class of 2020.

Yarning For Unity is a collective of craftivist who work as one unit.

We are a collective that craftbombs cityscapes with messages of love, hope, and unity. We utilize the foundations of Guerrilla Kindness, Craftivism, and New Genre Public Art to create art projects that bring communities together through art and empathy.

We are activists who use kindness as a means to subvert the negativity in the world. We are a peaceful, non-violent, and civil collective that opens the door for artists and communities to have a voice and work together.

Our form of activism is centered on practices of craft. To us, "craft" is any form of domestic arts, the works of independent makers, and unique creations by individuals made from any preferred medium. In this way, our projects are accessible to all people, all ages, all means, and all minds.

Yarning for Unity exists as an entity independent of names and institutions. Instead, Yarning for Unity works WITH institutions and communities. We work for communities and not for fame or money. Yarning for Unity is a public commodity because we desire to benefit all community members and do so for free. Yarning for Unity is not owned; instead, it is free and open to all.

We Are Simply A Collective Of Community And Compassion Centered Craftivists!
