Need a relaxing and meditative project over the winter months? Want to make the world a better place through art and craft? Then join the Yarning For Unity group on Facebook and help us create Tapestrees!!! Or just work on your own and message me. 😀
Want to learn to knit, crochet, sew, or embroider? Beginners encouraged! Great way to spend time with the family or to encourage positivity in our community. Works from all over the country are welcome! Spread the word!
There is plenty of time to work on the new project. When you are done, simply put it in the mail.
Items will be joined together to wrap around trunks or strung from branches. Embroidery, fabric, yarn, you name it! The only rules are to keep the messages small, no larger than 8x11 inches and as always to make messages of Love, Hope, and Unity.

Yarning for Unity is a Creative Collective of Craftivists interested in volunteering to create public installations and immersive experiences that promote compassion and unity in local communities.
Yarning for Unity (Y4U) installations are similar to the worldwide phenomenon of yarn-bombing, where cityscapes are decorated with yarn to communicate social messages or produce joy. A Y4U installation, however, is a craftbombing because it includes elements of craft beyond yarn.
Y4U is happy to welcome all those interested in promoting compassion and unity in their local community. Submissions are open to all artists, makers, crafters, or compassionate citizens who want to help.

Why?
We are a collective that craftbombs cityscapes with messages of love, hope, and unity. We utilize the foundations of Guerrilla Kindness, Craftivism, and New Genre Public Art to create art projects that bring communities together through art and empathy.
We are activists who use kindness as a means to subvert the negativity in the world. We are a peaceful, non-violent, and civil collective that opens the door for artists and communities to have a voice and work together.
